Without an account

Your start times, end times, timer preference, and history are kept in browser local storage. They are not sent to our server as fasting records. Local storage is not an encrypted vault: someone using the same browser profile can access it. Clearing browser data, private browsing, or a storage failure can remove records. Export a backup.

With an account

Amazon Cognito stores your email and manages authentication. We never store your password in the app’s browser cache or database. When you explicitly enable cloud saving, your fasting times, revisions, preferences, and consent choices are stored in Fasting Free’s separate AWS database in the US East (N. Virginia) region. Your browser keeps an account-specific working copy and unconfirmed changes.

Signing in does not automatically import guest history. You choose to import it. We retain the guest copy until the import is acknowledged and read back successfully. Signing out clears that account’s local app cache after pending changes have been resolved. Up to 500 sessions can be stored in an account.

Email choices and lead generation

Your account email is used for verification, password recovery, and essential service messages. Product news from Fasting Free and Kam AI is a separate, optional, unchecked choice. Turning it off in Settings withdraws that choice. Your fasting times are not used to build marketing profiles, shared with advertisers, or sent to an AI model.

Kam AI links identify Fasting Free as the referring website using ordinary campaign parameters. We do not put your email, account ID, or fasting records into those links.

Hosting and logs

AWS provides hosting, identity, email delivery, and data storage. Network services process IP addresses and request metadata to deliver and secure the site. This app has no advertising pixels or product analytics SDK. Application error logs exclude fasting records, email addresses, passwords, and access tokens and expire after 7 days. AWS service-level security records may follow separate infrastructure retention.

Export and deletion

Export JSON or CSV from Settings. You can clear your history or delete your account and cloud records. A short-lived deletion marker blocks new writes during account removal; deduplication receipts contain request fingerprints rather than fasting records and expire after about 24 hours. AWS cleanup is asynchronous.

Database recovery backups can retain previous records for up to 7 days. Operational recovery must honor deletion requests. Other devices may hold old local copies until refreshed or cleared; signing out and clearing site data removes a device’s copy. Guest history in another browser is not deleted by deleting a cloud account.

Your choices

You can use the timer without providing an email, turn marketing off without losing cloud saving, export your records, and request help with deletion at the contact above. Do not use this app to store someone else’s medical information.
